While it was a new schedule as an independent for the first time since 1918, the A’s still played the old NCO teams except Bucyrus, who had the reputation for breaking up the old league. The four loses were to the, also recently defunct league, once known as the Little Big Seven teams. The A’s new mentor was Cloyce E. Taylor from Bryan. Sophomore Dick Messner led the team with 266 points. The other starters scored: Bob Miller (199 pts), Bud Strine (163 pts), Dick Denbow (140 pts), and Gary Cooper (126 pts). The banquet speaker was Harold Anderson, BGSU basketball coach. |
