It was the first losing season in 20 years, and it ended with the 8th tournament loss to Mansfield in 11 years. Dave Wait was the leading scorer with 375 points, and twice he scored 34-points. Ken Oxenrider broke the school record with 30 rebounds against Upper Sandusky. The other starters were: Steve Enck, the other Co-Capt. with Wait (284 pts), Jim Kopp (187 pts), Bob Sweet (131 pts), Ken Oxenrider (124 pts). It was the only George Valentine team to not net a 90-point game. It was the year that glass backboards were installed at the McDowell gym. |
