The second season was again handicapped by the lack of an adequate home court. The newspapers recorded just four games with local opponents. Mont Gallaher, a notable athlete of that era, scored 28 of the team’s 52 points in the archives. His “hook” shot and 12-points led the Red and White to one win over a group from the college. The underclassmen had great hopes for the next season because of the new YMCA gym, which would be dedicated in June of 1909. |
