The popularity of AHS basket ball as a spectator sport swelled crowds in the second year of new gym to its capacity. Mansfield brought 225 rooters on three Cleveland SW interurban cars. Extra seat were added for other games like Wooster, also. High scoring games were an attraction as the A’s scored 88-points twice against West Salem. In the second meeting Capt. Clarence “Dick” Miller scored 36 points and Raymond Plank poured in 32-points. The two were usually the top scorers, but Plank finished the season with a new individual record of 230 points. |
