New Coach “Spitz” Ganyard, who had run the YMCA leagues, took over the Orange and Black with just two lettermen and an inexperienced squad. The team was led by the two veterans: Raymond Plank (7.6 ppg) and Marshall Mohn (7.1 ppg). The inter-class round robin had become so popular that each year the team pictures can be found in the school Yearbook. The winner earned the prestigious Silver Cup. The winning Sophomores were led by future varsity stars: Eddie Wells, Cresco McHose, and Weldon Hoot. |
