What the A’s lacked in height, they made up with speed. After winning the first 5 games, the Orange and Black had high hopes, but Coach Longley could not find a consistent starting five. They finished 3rd in the NCO League and lost the opening tournament game for only the second time in the past eleven years. Vince Barr led the team in scoring with 154 points. Seniors Gene Burns and Phil Smith were honorable mention All-NCO. The B-ball future looked bright as the JVs won the first of four straight North Central Ohio League championships.
