The Orange and Black won the NCO, which ended Marion’s four-year streak with their vaunted man-to-man press. The A’s set a new school record with 1069 points. Ted Jacobs broke the NCO league scoring record (229 pts) and the AHS scoring record (376 pts). Ted was the second leading scorer in the State, and he was second team All-Ohio in both polls.  The top scorers in the NCO included Jacobs, MVP Jack “Ruffy” Harris (2nd), and Russ Geisinger (7th). All three were on the first team NCO. The fourth senior starter Jack Schaffer was 12th and honorable mention. The team tied the single game high with 88 points against Shelby; and Jacobs (28), Geisinger (22), and Harris (20) broke the 20-point barrier. Ted Jacobs went on to play at Ohio State University.
