A.L. Buckner’s high scoring team had a runner-up finish in the NCO and the District. Again, they lost at Marion in their bandbox gym in the Edison Junior High. They set school records for points-per-game (45), and their opponents scored the most points (652) in AHS history. The Bucyrus game (66-47) was the highest total (113 pts) ever for AHS games, and Ted Jacobs set the modern standard with 34 points in that game. He, also, broke Vince Barr’s season record with 267 points. Jacobs and Jack Harris (183 pts) were on the NCO first-team. Kenneth Darr (109 pts) was 2nd team, and the defensive standout Jim Cross was 1st team All-District.
